Is it alright to openly confess your sins...

Is it alright to openly confess your sins to your best friend, even if your Parents aren’t comfortable with it?

1. No. It is not honoring or good to do something your parents are not comfortable with if you are still living in their home. If you an adult and living on your own then you are primarily responsible to God or your spouse if married. Another issue to consider before any discussion about your sins: “What is your motivation behind your desire to confess your sins to your friend?” Is your friend a believer? If not, this would not be a helpful discussion. Is your friend the opposite sex? If so, this would certainly no be helpful as it can lead to an emotional bond. Emotional oneness with a friend of the opposite sex can open the door to other traps of sin. If you are living with your parents, you should consider sharing with your parents and asking them to be praying with you about the matter. If you are out of the home, seek out a godly friend of the same sex and ask them to pray for you. Pray about these matters in your prayer journal. Tell the Lord, He is the primary One to whom you should be confessing your sins. God has the only solution for your sins…not your best friend.
